The Alex Pinter Quartet is a new
young, fresh and modern sounding Jazz Combo, consisting of the
routiniers Raphael Preuschl (b) and Peter
Natterer (ss/ts), and prospective Berklee students
Michael Kihn (dr) and bandleader and mastermind
Alex Pinter (g).
On the quest of its sound, the quartet moves through different
genres – contemporary jazz, which doesn't refuse to incorporate
modern styles like drum'n'bass, but always keeping in mind where
jazz has its roots. In this modern context, "traditional"
improvisation as well as soundscaping with a wide variety of
effects both have enough room to emerge. The sound on the new
album "PAY 8 GET 10" is also a mixture between the
knowledge of jazz tradition and the consciousness of the 21st
century. |

Two well-known musicians of the austrian
jazz scene, Herbert Pirker (dr) and Martin
Eberle (tp), perform a really worth-listening
guest appearance on track 7 of the album.
Conclusion: a young talented quartet, which surely will
grab the headlines in the future – listening highly
recommended! |
