After having a pretty successful
quintet in the 90’s for various
reasons it became more and more difficult to continue, so in
consequence the last couple of years I played mostly with my
trio. I enjoyed this very much, the intimacy of playing without
drums almost like chamber music.
But going straight on, I had to do something more, so when I
met some of my old friends and fellow musicians, the desire
arouse to form a sextet, with the classic frontline: trumpet,
tenor and trombone.
Being lucky enough that Dusko Goykovic and
Adrian Mears loved this idea, for piano I asked
Jörg Reiter, with whom I played for years
and years with the Peter Herbolzheimer Big Band, of
course, Bruno Castellucci on drums for me was
the only choice and last but not least, Mads Vinding
on bass, who also is heard on my first trio CD, is back on my
side again. |

During our first tour "Alessa Records"
recorded the concert we played in the Jazz Club BIRDLAND
in Neuburg/Germany and here is the CD with a selection
of titles from this concert on 6th of May 2005.
